Price Differential Worksheet
DPPE developed this spreadsheet to minimize data handling and maximize insight when using public data about netback oil and gas prices, marketing costs and lease use. Data is imported as a large table from DI Desktop's revenue module, and the results of the analysis are exported as a table which can be loaded into PHDwin.
However, our analysis evolved further to incorporate LOE data, shrink and private data on netbacks. You can learn more about our more complete and more powerful Mass LOS analysis tool HERE.
Disclaimer: Though we have tried to handle the data reliably, DPPE provides this data without any warranty as to accuracy or usefulness. We encourage you to check the data for accuracy and to understand the significance and utility of futures prices.
Sources for Historical Benchmark Prices
To use this spreadsheet, you will need information on historical benchmark prices.
The Energy Information Agency publishes a tool to help you easily get their info on historical prices into Excel.
Sproule publishes both historical benchmark prices as well as their own expectations of future prices.
Netherland, Sewell and Associates publishes first of month prices for use in calculation of SEC-prescribed prices.
Data can also be had from vendors such as BarChart.com for natural gas or crude oil.
